Profile and account settings

Update your name, password, email, and how to delete your account.

Last updated June 3, 2026

Go to the live page Open your profile

All account settings live on one page: your profile. It is split into tabs.

Profile tab

  • Display name and avatar. What other people see on your public profile and on shared results.
  • Bio. A short description shown on your public profile page.
  • Username. Used in URLs (/@<username>). Changing it breaks existing links to your public results, so do it sparingly.

Customising your avatar

Click the avatar in the profile tab to open the customisation panel. You can pick:

  • A shape. Circle, rounded square, or square.
  • Background and accent colours. Drawn from Phoenix theme colours so the avatar reads cleanly in both light and dark mode.
  • Stroke weight. Thin, normal, or thick outlines.
  • Motion. Off (still) or a subtle breathing animation.

Vilvik never asks for a photo. Your avatar is generated locally from the choices above.

Notification preferences

Below the avatar block is a small set of toggles for email notifications, including run-completion emails. Toggle these to control what Vilvik sends you and what stays in-app only.

Account tab

The Account tab on your profile groups everything related to how you sign in.

  • Email. Read-only summary with a verified badge. To change the address, switch to the Profile tab and edit it there; we send a verification code to the new address before the change takes effect, and the old address keeps working until you confirm.
  • Password.
  • If you have a password, you'll see a Change password button. It asks for your current password before you pick a new one.
  • If you signed up with Google or GitHub, you'll see a Set a password button instead. No current password is needed; you just pick one and from then on you can also sign in with email and password.
  • Forgot your current password? Use Forgot password instead; it works for everyone, including OAuth-only accounts.
  • Delete account. Permanent. Removes your profile, submissions, invitations, and cancels your active subscription with Stripe.

See Signing up and signing in for more on the three sign-in methods and how they interact.

API keys tab

Create and manage API keys here. See Creating and managing API keys for the full guide.

Webhooks tab

Add URLs that Vilvik should call when your submissions finish. See Webhooks.

Newsletter

Manage your newsletter subscription from the unsubscribe page. The fastest path is the one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter email. See Newsletter.

Deleting your account

The Delete account button is at the bottom of the profile tab. We ask you to type your username to confirm. Deleting an account:

  • Removes your private results and submissions.
  • Hides your public results immediately and queues them for deletion.
  • Cancels any active subscription at the next billing cycle.
  • Cannot be undone.

If you deleted by mistake, contact support quickly. We may be able to recover the data while it is still in soft-delete.

Thanks for the feedback!
