Trash and restoring deleted submissions

How the recycle bin works, how long submissions stay recoverable, and how to remove them for good.

Last updated June 3, 2026

When you delete a submission from your dashboard, Vilvik does not remove it immediately. It is moved to your Trash, where it stays for 30 days. During that window you can restore it with one click. After the window closes, it is removed for good.

Where to find your Trash

Open Trash from the sidebar under User submissions. The page lists every submission you have deleted in the last 30 days, with the date it was created, the date it was moved to Trash, and how many days remain before it is automatically removed. Only you can see your own Trash.

What goes into Trash

Anything you delete from the submissions list or from a submission's detail page. If the submission was still running when you deleted it, Vilvik first cancels the run, then moves the row to your Trash. The results, run logs, and metering records travel with the submission, so a restore brings everything back together.

How to restore a submission

  1. Open your Trash page.
  2. Find the submission you want back.
  3. Click Restore.

The submission immediately reappears in your normal submissions list with the same parameters, results, and run history it had before.

How to remove a submission for good

  1. Open your Trash page.
  2. Click Delete forever on the row you want gone.
  3. Confirm the action in the prompt.

Once a submission is removed this way, it cannot be recovered. Its results, run logs, and metering records are removed along with it.

Automatic clean-up

Every day, Vilvik permanently removes Trash entries that are older than 30 days. You do not need to do anything to keep your Trash tidy. If you change your mind, restore the submission before the 30 days are up.

Frequently asked

Does deleting a public submission also remove its public page? Yes. As soon as you move a public submission to Trash, the public link returns "not found". If you restore the submission within 30 days, the public link is live again with the same URL.

Will my friends' invitations be re-issued if I restore the submission? Restoring brings back the same invitation rows. Anyone you invited before still has access; you do not need to re-send invitations.

Can I empty my Trash all at once? Not yet. Today, each row has its own Delete forever button. Bulk operations are on our short list of follow-ups.
